Any time you're doing business
with someone new, you should run a background check to see if
they have any type of
criminal record. Make sure you get some type identification,
even a business card with the persons
details on it. At
least get their name, address and phone number. Then check to
see if you're dealing with someone
who is trust
worthy and honest.
If they are not prepared to
give out their details, don’t deal with them!
You have probably heard the
horror stories of the abusive nanny or babysitter,or the house
painter who has a history burgalries. Even fake tradesmen who
scam money from pensioners and never do or even finish the
job.
Online Dating?
Run a Background Check before meeting the person.
A lot of people today belong to
online dating services, hoping to meet thier soul
mate.You can chat, email
even send photos of each other, but before you meet in person
it’s a very good idea to run
a background check on the person.
My nephew chatted online for months to a woman, she sent him a
photo, she even spoke
to him on the phone. He thought he was lucky and this was miss
right , he seant her $7,000 so
she could move
to be with him. Plane tickets, furniture removalist
etc... is what the money was for.
Alas it was a scam, the woman never again made contact with him
once she recieved the money.
A report on t.v. outlined how men
were being ripped off, police are
investigating. A
simple background check could have saved him money and heart
ache.
Run a Check on anyone working
with your children.
The most disgusting and sicking
trend of all times is the number of sex attacks on helpless
children.
Yet, many parents continue to
hand over their children to others without running any kind of
checks.
Use the people search engine to
check out your baby sitter, nanny, house keeper, gardner even
your childs day care
center staff, or school teachers. You can run a search of your
local area to find out if any known sex offenders live anywhere near
you.
More Background Checks You Can
Make
There are more background checks
you can make.If you are getting a new job your employer, will
do a background check
on you. Why not run a background check on your new boss, this
person may seem legitimate but that could be your big mistake. Find out
what of people you work for.
Do they have a criminal for
sexual harassment in the past or been involved in some kind of
illegal activity?
You should also check out any of
your close work associates. You can probally think of more
people and situations, that would require you to run a background
check.
You could also run checks into
the background of any your landlord, or any tenants that you
lease your property
too, even the people door knocking and asking for money for
charities, should at least provide
you with id.
Money attracts criminals who sometimes use good
organizations to commit their crimes, it is
better to be
safe than sorry.
Be sure you run a background
check! Do it regularly.
